PRISONER OF TIME 1 © 2007

At times I am to not be,

What I am supposedly meant to be,

I live in contradiction,

Between what is expected of me

And what my soul wants to live.

I float between realities,

Touching on masks and truths,

And in that fleeting moment,

I cease to be what I was imposed,

To find what pleases me.

But soon I lose myself,

Returning to the role I did not choose,

At times, I am to not be,

And in the internal struggle, I divide myself,

Between what I am and what I have never been.
