PRISONER OF TIME 1 © 2007
I do not trust,
Not because I do not trust,
But because my concerns
Follow a different path,
A route where uncertainty
Is a constant companion.
As the world spins,
And promises unravel in the air,
I seek something deeper,
Something that goes beyond mere trust.
My concerns reside in the invisible,
In what lies behind words,
In the silence that speaks louder,
In the intentions that are never revealed.
I do not trust,
Not out of a lack of faith in others,
But because life has taught me
To listen to the subtext,
To pay attention to gestures,
And to search for answers where no one looks.
