PRISONER OF TIME 1 © 2007
I climbed too high in search of glory,
I scaled mountains of ambition and desire,
But exhaustion took over my soul,
And now, looking back, I see
Nothing but shadows and mist.
I cannot react, I am trapped,
In the exhaustion of one who has gone too far,
The memory has faded, like a distant echo,
Leaving me without strength, without peace.
Every step I took, every achievement,
Now seems empty, without colour,
And the glory I so sought,
Has turned into weight, into pain.
I climbed so high, that I lost myself,
And upon reaching the summit, found nothing,
Except the exhaustion that embraces me,
And the loss of memory that invades me.
Now, I only want rest,
To set aside the relentless pursuit,
To find peace in simplicity,
And allow the soul, finally,
To be free from the burden of the glory that held me so tight.
