PRISONER OF TIME 2 © 2008

No one gives anything to anyone,

The world revolves around exchange and interest,

Rarely do they do so, and when they do,

There is always a price that is woven.

They offer a rope for hanging,

With a knot tightly tied, so it won’t fail,

The gesture that seems like help, in reality,

Is a disguised noose, ready to tighten.

Generosity is a broken mirror,

Reflecting hidden and cold intentions,

And in the seemingly extended hand,

Lurks the desire to see dark falls.

The rope, which seems like a gift,

Carries the weight of concealed betrayal,

And the knot, so carefully tied,

Facilitates the descent, with no chance of ladder.
