PRISONER OF TIME 2 © 2008
Eternal rests the gaze,
In the peace that farewell brings,
Friends, surrounded by their children,
Keep memories that time remakes.
The hope of returning one day,
Even if distant and uncertain,
Is a flame that, still shining,
Keeps longing ever awake.
A tenuous memory in reel,
Wrapped in the fibres of the heart,
A thread of affection, a gentle trail,
That links past and future in communion.
And so, the gaze that rests,
In the eternity of what once was,
Remembers that, in absence, there is inheritance,
And that love, even quiet, never fades.
