GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 1 © 2007

Great Soul in My Country

From the record of all I have done,

It was to be faithful to you in hardness,

In the molten rock, through liquid welding.

With calloused hands and a serene soul,

Shaping destiny between the cracks,

Each drop of sweat, a promise,

Each scar, a certainty.

Faithful to the ground that supports me,

To this land that feeds me,

And in the hardness of the stone,

I find the strength that sustains me.

My country, with a great soul,

Where the sun burns and the wind expands,

Where the heart beats in unison,

With nature that commands us, like a hymn.

In the record of all I have done,

Remains the mark of my labour,

Faithful to you, my Angola,

In the molten rock, through liquid welding,

I have engraved my love.
