GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008
The thousand souls that dwell within me, without cease,
Do not give me rest, always ready to cry out,
In the need to depart, they link to the past,
And find in the future, a new way of feeling that provokes me.
I, who endure the eternal fatigue, heavy and dense,
That entwines me like a chain, in an immense loop,
It takes me to the depths, in the steel anchor, cold and hard,
And in the abyss of being, I feel the pain that endures.
I make use of the space created, in a luminous beam,
As I descend, I am unaware,
Of the reason for such thorny suffering,
And in the darkness, where the light scarcely gleams,
I question the burden that my soul carries.
Why so much suffering, I ask with no answer,
While the thousand souls within me continue their wager,
And at the bottom of the abyss, I find the profound silence,
Where the chains break, and the pain is lost in the world.
