GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008
I would like to live for a thousand years, in a time without end,
So I could store in infinity the mistakes within me,
Numerous and unhappy, that keep me bound and distressed,
Like the weight I bear, in this trail, my cry.
They see me as a suspect, with stamps marking me,
Labels from a society that does not wish to reveal itself,
Ignorant and blind, judging what it does not understand,
I would like to be eternal, so that time might defend me.
In records on computable papyrus, to eternalise myself,
So that the unseen future might hear me,
Feeling the gentle chips, like a living memory,
And the gurgling pulse, like lava that awakens.
In the manner of a constantly erupting volcano,
On the mountains of achievements, I am the giant,
Who falls, not from the fall, but from greatness,
Of the heart that, even immense, bows to purity.
