GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008

I lifted anchor, set out adrift,

As I have always been, wandering,
with a weeping and emotional soul,

I sailed through uncertain seas, with my heart in hand,

I docked at a safe port, in search of renewal.

Here, once again I abandoned myself, in the hope of contributing,

The construction rising, with a smile emerging,

In my gaze, the tears served as deep concrete,

To the foundations that support the weight of this world.

For the nation to be strong, prepared for life,

That pain be endured, without the shadow of a wound,

Without the condemnation of a crime not committed,

And that the usual innocence of a child be always defended.

May it never know the end of its own childhood,

May purity remain, like light in the distance,

And thus, I build with tears and hope,

A future where the joy of a child never tires.
