GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008
It will always be like this, this constant courtship,
Oh idea, give me a divorce before the eternal marriage, I implore.
Have I already been caught in the nets of your illusion?
You know well that I will never give you children, only the past,
Grandparent of the isolated future, trapped in what was left.
I will neither walk with you down the avenue,
Nor will I speak of you to the world, oh lost life,
You will live within my deluded soul,
And will never leave your deep coma, asleep.
You will remain eternal in disorientation,
My effort will always be insufficient, without conviction,
To bring you into this dog-eat-dog world where we survive,
Only if I were mad, in a delirium that does not live.
And so, you remain, an unrealised dream,
Within me, without echo, without past,
You will always be the shadow that does not reach the day,
An idea that lives, but never comes to life.
