GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008
I shut myself off from the world, in deep silence,
I immersed my gaze in restless writing,
Each word a refuge, each verse an arrow,
And in a single certainty, I wept for humanity.
I wept for the pains unseen, the hidden sorrows,
The silent wars, the internal battles,
On a paper stained with eternal tears,
Recording the weight of adult souls.
I shut myself off from the world, but not from feeling,
In writing, I found my way of existing,
And while the world spun, distant and cold,
I wept for humanity, in my sombre corner.
