A CRY FOR FREEDOM © 2008
What has become of us? Desire and sharing,
That once flowed, now are a gentle breeze,
They vanished without leaving a sign, a trail,
And in their place, emptiness is what serves us.
And how to find them? I ask in silence,
When time has already stolen our sense,
Only with an infinite, immense love,
Perhaps we can recover the lost.
For it is in love that everything rests,
Calm, forgiveness, the peace that lingers,
And only it, in its purity, dares,
To heal the wound that still burns.
With this love, that goes beyond desire,
Perhaps, at last, we can find peace,
And in the reunion, without further fear,
Desire and sharing may return.
