A CRY FOR FREEDOM © 2008
I have planted throughout life,
The seeds of happiness,
With hope and faith, well-nurtured,
Cultivating the soil with loyalty.
But after decades of tending,
These seeds, so longed for,
Never germinated in truth,
Leaving me in the shadow of reality.
I do not know if it was due to wickedness,
Or perhaps to tender virginity,
That beneath the earth they rotted,
Never blooming as they deserved.
Was the effort, the care, in vain?
Or was it the earth that denied the action?
Perhaps life, in its wisdom,
Has reserved another day,
For, in due time, without constraint,
The seeds will sprout in full bloom.
Until then, I wait with patience,
For in life there is always an essence,
That in the depths of the soil, hidden,
One day breaks forth, bringing to light the promised life.
