A CRY FOR FREEDOM © 2008
Is it possible to weep for humanity?
In a song of lament, the tears flow,
In its warm way of eternal longing,
They slide down the face, abandoned by time.
The face, serving as a comfort, collected,
The tears fulfil their destiny of suffering,
Even when undeserved,
They become reflections of lost souls.
It is its way of being, its identity,
A profound lament that echoes in truth,
And, at times, is hindered by age,
But never ceases to express reality.
To weep for humanity is to feel in the heart,
Each pain, each loss, each broken love,
It is to carry the weight of the world in the eyes,
And, even in silence, give voice to the profound.
For tears, in their simplicity,
Are the essence of our humanity,
And, in their flow, reveal what we are,
Beings who weep, but in tears, we are formed.
