REFLECTIONS © 2011

I feel your shame as my own,

For I know well that weight on the chest,

I too betrayed my heart,

In the moment it needed respect the most.

At the worst time, when silence cried out,

I turned a deaf ear to its scream,

And now, in this never-ending shadow,

I carry the burden of what was said.

But your pain, a mirror of mine,

Binds us in the same uncertain fate,

And perhaps, amidst this fog,

We can find a path closer.

Shame is heavy, but it is ours,

And together, who knows, it may become lighter.
