REFLECTIONS © 2011
I who have lived for over a thousand years,
Here I am, in age and mystery,
Observing the eternal cycle of deceits,
Bearing the weight of humanity's errors, seriously.
I have witnessed centuries of promises and falls,
Of wars, of peace, of dreams undone,
I have seen hearts ignite in hope's calls,
Only to extinguish, discontented and shunned.
And here I remain, silent and aware,
Carrying the burden of time in my hands,
While the world, in its despair,
Repeats the same mistakes, the same plans.
But despite the pain I bear within,
I still hope that humanity will learn, at last, to begin.
