REFLECTIONS © 2011

I felt your presence throughout the day,

Like a gentle breath, an invisible touch,

But upon arriving home, I didn’t see you,

And loneliness enveloped me in a dreadful clutch,

Sad I became, living in utopia,

Where the real fades into the intangible hush.

At least dreams, they never abandon us,

They allow us to feel joy,

Even if fleeting, even if brief,

They’re a refuge where the heart finds relief,

And in illusion, we find the peace

That reality sometimes denies us.

It’s in dreams that I truly find you,

Where time and distance hold no weight,

And even if it lasts just a moment,

I celebrate the warmth of this constant fate.
