REFLECTIONS © 2011

I always await the next surge of emotion,

Like one who waits, impatient,

For the flow of a navigable river,

Where the waters run free, intensely.

With the sails of hope blowing in certainty

That the journey will be more than a simple drift,

It will be triumph and wonder at every bend,

An unpredictable path, daring the sea.

Between gusts of wind and jealous storms,

I will be shaken, but never brought down,

For it’s in the stormiest moments

That the heart feels its renewed pulse.

And when the river makes me tremble,

It won’t be from fear, but from joy and euphoria,

For in the sway of the waters and the fervor of living,

I discover what it means to be whole, each day.
