REFLECTIONS © 2011
I cry for you with the emotion
Of a remorseful prisoner,
I cry for you because the heart
Could not be heard.
It remained in silence,
Seated on the defendant's bench,
Where the weight of guilt and pain
Echoed in murmurs and veils.
The prisoner laments his sentence,
Not for the lost freedom,
But for the voice that never found
The way to be understood.
And so, silence echoes,
Like a severe and profound punishment,
While the heart, imprisoned,
Chokes under the weight of the world.
