REFLECTIONS © 2011

In a way,

I need innocence to live,

It’s the spark that lights up dark days,

And the remedy that soothes the soul’s pain.

In innocence, I find purity,

The ability to be amazed by the simple things,

To believe the world is a good place,

Even when the winds turn harsh and unsettling.

It’s in innocence that hope resides,

The belief in the best, even when the path is uncertain,

And this inner light is what guides me,

Through the journey, toward a future more open.

Without innocence, life’s weight can be crushing,

And the beauty of small things can fade away,

So, the need to keep this flame alive

Is what gives meaning and color to life’s sway.
