REFLECTIONS © 2011

Oh! Christ, the world is playing with fire

And I, doing nothing, watch!

My Lord, what to do?

The tears I cry

Are no longer enough.

I feel powerless,

In the face of so much crackling.

The chaos I see, the destruction,

Is an echo of despair and uncertainty,

And I, with an aching heart,

Seek an answer, a certainty.

Powerlessness is a heavy weight,

When faced with calamity,

And the tears, though sincere,

Seem insufficient to change reality.

But even in powerlessness, there’s a call,

To not turn away and to carry on,

To seek faith, hope, and action,

To transform pain into a new beginning.

Christ, guide me in the darkness,

Give me the courage to act with love,

And transform the crackling of destruction

Into a flame of renewal and worth.
