LETTERS TO DESTINY © 2012

When the word of God is spoken,

By its intensity, it burns the soul

Of those who do not believe in life,

Like a fire that purifies but also disarms.

It enters like a beam of light,

Tearing through the darkness that settles in the heart,

And, troubled, they still utter

Mutterings, grimaces, and blasphemies that depart.

The weight of truth, which they cannot deny,

Touches deep on their doubts and fears,

And, without understanding what consumes them,

They respond with rage, as if they were secrets.

But the word of God, so strong and clear,

Does not silence before disdain or affront,

It remains, steadfast as a rock,

And in its purity, the soul it touches confronts.

And even if the unbelievers reject it,

The seed has been planted in the soil of life,

For in the end, all will be called to hear

The truth that, in silence, never dies.
