LETTERS TO DESTINY © 2012

I weep for those who have departed,

In the longing that distance provokes,

Each memory is a sigh,

Each absence, a pain that invokes.

Distance transforms time,

Into an echo that never fades,

And the heart, filled with memories,

Feels the absence like a wound that pervades.

But amid the tears and longing,

There is also a love that does not fade,

For those who have departed live on,

In the memories that the heart has made.

I weep for them, not for their distance,

But because my love for them runs deep,

And even though distance may separate us,

They remain, eternal, in my heart to keep.
