LETTERS TO DESTINY © 2012
The gift of some
Is the downfall of others,
Like light that illuminates a few
And blinds the unaware, broken.
What blossoms in one hand,
In the other can be a thorn,
For what life gives as a blessing
Can be pain on another's path.
There are those who carry the gift with grace,
Spreading peace wherever they go,
But there are those who wield it as a weapon,
And in the shadows, its shine fades.
What is talent in one being,
For another is temptation and fall,
For not everyone knows how to contain
The power that ensnares them all.
Thus, what is elevation for some,
Can be an abyss for others,
And what enriches some souls,
In others, makes them lose their faces.
The gift of some, then, is burden,
When misused or misunderstood,
For what should be a blessing
Turns into downfall in a lost heart.
