LETTERS TO DESTINY © 2012
The great problem of humanity
Is that everyone wants to be gods,
Yearning for power and glory,
Forgetting their own burdens and odds.
Each one seeks their throne,
In kingdoms made of illusion,
Where the ego rises high
And love loses its mission.
They want to control destiny,
Molding the world to their will,
But in trying to be divine,
They lose sight of the real.
Greatness isn’t in dominion,
Nor in the quest for veneration,
But in the humility of those who serve,
And listen to the heart's narration.
True power is in silence,
In recognizing fragility,
For only those who descend to the depths
Can understand eternity.
The problem is that, in the desire to be,
They forget what it truly means to be:
Not a god among mortals,
But a human, ready to learn and see.
