LINES OF THOUGHT © 2013

No matter how hard they try, they will not succeed

In blocking the arteries of my heart's need.

They may raise walls, cast shadows to confine,

But my pulse will never cease to shine.

I will remain alone, yet free as a bird,

Flying in the vast sky, serene and unheard.

The shackles of the world, I know, cannot bind,

For in my soul, only the winds are kind.

If solitude is the price of my liberty,

I accept it with peace, in all sincerity.

For those who soar freely, without fear or chain,

Carry in the skies the weight of their pain.
