LINES OF THOUGHT © 2013
When the disciple places themselves above the master,
Forgetting humility and the lesson taught,
They may fall into the void that comes after,
From arrogance that blinds the sight they sought.
The path of knowledge is long and subtle,
Made of slow steps and careful intent,
But those who hurry, in childish rebuttal,
Lose themselves on the road of self-content.
They may find themselves abandoned to fate,
To the destiny they chose without care,
For true wisdom is strong and innate
In humility, patience, and experience rare.
Let the disciple know their rightful place,
Learn with wisdom to listen and reflect,
For only those who bow, without haste to embrace,
Can truly teach, one day, with respect.
