Often history repeats itself,

Like a distant echo that strikes us unawares,

For we forget the past, the lessons we’ve lived,

And move forward, ignoring the wounds that ensnare.

The mistakes of yore, meant to be a lesson,

Lie buried, lost in the confusion’s maze.

And thus we tread the same path once more,

Failing to learn from fate, unchanged in our ways.

Memory is fragile, and time makes us forget,

Yet history, patient, is set to occur again.

If only we looked back with wisdom and care,

Perhaps we’d break the cycle and alter the terrain.

But while forgetting persists, the wheel keeps on turning,

And history repeats itself, ready to start anew.
