LINES OF THOUGHT © 2015

Prejudice is not found in others,

It lies in our way of feeling different,

A reflection of the fear that dwells within us,

That distorts our gaze and makes itself evident.

When we see the world through barriers,

With judgments made before we understand,

It is our heart that, within its borders,

Fails to offer pure love, unplanned.

Prejudice is born in a closed mind,

That fears what it does not know or accept,

But it is in openness and a soul refined,

That true understanding is truly adept.

It is not others who carry the weight,

It is our vision that needs to recreate.
