LINES OF THOUGHT © 2016

We are all in the same boat,

Sailing together, without port, without note.

But the weight we carry, of disregard,

Slowly sinks us, with no lifeguard.

The boat that will capsize,

Due to carelessness, to neglect's ties.

Eyes closed to what is essential,

Make the present a path detrimental.

The sea, that sustains and guides our way,

Will become the grave of our dismay.

The grave of the future, where hope will cease,

If we do not awaken, if there’s no one to please.

But there is still time, there’s still wind,

To change our course, avoid the chagrin.

For the boat is ours, and together we can

Make the sea life, not what we fear, man.
