LINES OF THOUGHT © 2016
I who lived with the reasons for sadness,
Today, I've learned to embrace more gladness.
In the shadows that once wrapped me tight,
Now I see colors that delight.
The weight I carried upon my chest,
Has been lifted; I've laid it to rest.
From pain and sorrow, I said farewell,
And found in the little things life can swell.
Now, the days dance with a gentle grace,
And in the nights, there’s peace and space.
I who bore the burden of the dark,
Now see the light on a purer arc.
